Tsunami

A tsunami is a series of ocean waves caused by an underwater earthquake, volcanic eruption, or other geological disturbances.

Tsunamis can travel across the ocean at speeds up to 500 miles per hour (800 kilometers per hour).

Tsunamis are primarily caused by underwater earthquakes, but can also be triggered by volcanic eruptions, landslides, or meteorite impacts.

The distance a tsunami can reach inland depends on various factors, including the undersea topography and the size of the tsunami. It can vary from a few meters to several kilometers.

Signs of an incoming tsunami may include a rapid rise or fall in ocean water levels, a loud roaring sound, or the shaking of the ground near the coast.
